(1923-2008)News came down today that the Honorary Mayor of Hollywood, Johnny Grant, passed away. A pioneer in the city, Grant was the visible face of the transformation of the area from slum to trendy hot spot. He was always seen during the unveiling of Walk of Fame Stars, and the late great Hollywood Christmas Parade. He had the honor of receiving a wax figure in the Hollywood Wax Museum, along such celebrities as Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts, and Samuel L. Jackson.
